Thai-Cambodia dispute

Japan expected to lift import ban on mangosteen from Thailand

TOKYO, Japan - Thailand is set to export fresh mangosteen (shown in photo) to Japan as Tokyo is expected to remove an import ban on the fruit soon, Thai Ambassador to Japan Kasit Piromya said April 11. Japan currently bans the imports to prevent the entry of harmful insects. Only frozen mangosteen is allowed into Japan.
